After being stopped on Public Square Sunday night, Tyler E.L. Williams, 22, of 251 Stone St., was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unsafe lane change.

At 11:15 p.m. he was observed making an unsafe lane change. According to city police, his blood alcohol content was 0.20 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing before being released to military custody. He was issued tickets returnable to City Court.
