LOWVILLE — A phone service outage affecting Lewis County residents ended Monday afternoon, after a fiber was cut at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.

Patricia Amendola, communications manager at Frontier Communications, said the outage was fully resolved at around 4:15 p.m. Monday.

While the fiber cut was in Verizon Communications territory in the Barneveld area, Frontier customers were limited to making and receiving calls in their local call area.

Lewis County Undersheriff James M. Monnat said the interruption did not affect 911 calls.
