Norman E. Calhoun


Carthage- Norman E. Calhoun, 35329 Line School Rd. Carthage, passed away at home under the care of Hospice and his family March 8, 2014, following a brief illness. He was 63 years old.

The funeral will be 4 pm Wednesday, March 12th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in North Watertown Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 3 pm - 4 pm.

Norman was born in Watertown on August 21,1950, a son to Merton and Ella Sweeney Calhoun. He worked for many years as a painter at various places.

On February 14. 1990 he married Capitola Greenfield in Brownville, NY. He enjoyed playing bingo and was also a bingo caller for the Three Mile Bay Bingo Hall.

Surviving besides his wife, Capitola, are his 3 daughters: Angel (James) Ryan, Watertown; Michelle (Phillip II) Stevenson, Watertown; Maryann Calhoun, Carthage; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Donald (Deb) Calhoun; Edward (Rita) Calhoun; John(Danielle) Calhoun; a sister: Jane (Gary) Gardner and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norman is predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Calhoun, 2 sisters, Mary Alberry and Doris White; 1 brother, Lawrence Calhoun.
