Mr. and Mrs. Fuhr have been members of the Winterfest Committee since its inception and were honored for their leadership in helping Friends of Higley Flow State Park complete the new Higley Trails Lodge.

Honored: At the annual meeting of Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation District and Lewis County Water Quality Coordinating Committee, the 2013 Water Quality Stewardship Award was presented to the family of the late Renee Beyer in recognition of Mrs. Beyer’s efforts to protect and conserve the waters of Lewis County. Mrs. Beyer had served on the water quality coordinating committee since 2007, held the seat of committee secretary in 2011 and assisted in acquiring grants for watershed protection and participated in macro-invertebrate collection to assess stream health at Sears Pond. In honor of her commitment, the award has been officially been renamed the “Renee Beyer Water Stewardship Award.”
