Central Square man charged after Monday evening accident

RICHLAND — Donald P. Hilton, 26, of 852 Route 11, Central Square, was arrested on two felony charges after a property damage accident at 8:15 p.m. Monday on Baldwig Road left him injured.

Police said Mr. Hilton attempted to leave the scene of the accident on foot. He was found near the vehicle, suffering from undisclosed injuries, police said. He was taken to Oswego Hospital and treated.

Mr. Hilton was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a class E felony, and driving while intoxicated. Because of two previous DWI convictions in the last 10 years, he was charged with a class D felony.

He refused a breath test at the scene, police said.

He is to appear in Town Court to answer the charges.
