LYONS FALLS- A Celebration of Life for Reginald Podkowka, 63, Cherry St. will be held Thursday March 13, from 5-7 pm at the Adirondack Funeral Home, SR 812 Croghan, NY 13327.
Reginald died Monday at his home while under the care of his family and companion, and Lewis County Hospice.
He was born in Lowville October 29, 1950 to Ludolf Stanley and Winnie Mae Mackey Podkowka. He graduated from South Lewis Central School in 1968, and later earned his Associates Degree in Human Services from Mohawk Valley Community College. He was employed by Lewis County Mental Health as a Case Manager Aid for 18 years, and previous to that he was a Warehouse Supervisor for Rite-Aid, and a police officer for the City of Rome.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, lawn work, and anything to do with the outdoors.
He is survived by his companion Lynn Wilder; two sons, Kevin (Michelle), LaBelle FL. and Craig, Omaha, NE. He has two brothers; Donald and Bernard both of Lyons Falls and a sister, Andrea (Roland) Galarneau, Lowville.
He has two grandchildren, Gwyneth and Lukas Podkowka, 9 nieces and nephews and several cousins.
