The headline for the New York state wrestling championship wrap-up is unfair and unjustly negative. Why not write, Section III wrestlers led Division II in state tournament?
This sounds much more positive than the short fall statement that was printed. Stating this at the end of the article, like an afterthought, trivializes their accomplishments.
Lets celebrate our local wrestlers years of hard work and dedication to their sport. Making it to the states is a huge accomplishment; making it on the podium is an honor to be celebrated, not something they fell short of because they didnt take first place.
Our area cheered and celebrated Erin Hamlin for winning the bronze medal in the winter Olympics.
Did Mr. St. Croix feel she fell short because she didnt win the gold?
Mr. St. Croix, I encourage you to view the glass as half full, not empty, like you currently see it. The pen in your hand is what really fell short. I fully agree with the person who stated in the article comments, Shame on you, Josh.
These young wrestlers are among the best in the state. I also want to give a big thank you to the coaches who have worked so hard to help our athletes be successful.
Congratulations to all of you on a year and career to remember.
