POTSDAM — The Potsdam Food Co-op is introducing four new products during a food tasting from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

McVitie’s Digestive Wheat Biscuits are a blend of wheat flour and whole meal. They do not include artificial flavors or colors, or hydrogenated fats. The biscuits’ crumbly texture and flavor have made them a popular base for cheesecakes.

Crazy Richard’s 100 percent natural peanut butter has U.S. peanuts as its only ingredient. Making peanut butter since 1898, Crazy Richard’s starts with No. 1 runner-split peanuts from Georgia, a roasting process that brings out flavor without burning and a special grind that creates a creamy, smooth texture. The peanut butter can be stored in the fridge without becoming too hard to spread.

Two new items have been added to the co-op’s gluten-free shelves and will be available for sampling as well.

Energ Garlic Pretzels are free of gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, eggs and nuts.

K-Toos Chocolate Sandwich Crème Cookies, from the Canadian company, are gluten-free as well.

The Potsdam Food Co-op is located at 24 Elm St. and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It is a member-owned cooperative grocery store where everyone is welcome to shop and anyone is welcome to join.
