MASSENA Village police on Monday charged Patrick J. Barber, 25, of 2 Richards St., with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree menacing.
Police said that about 8 p.m. Saturday in his home, Mr. Barber threatened his then-girlfriend, Jocelyn Spinner, with a kitchen knife during an argument; grabbed her by the arms and right side, leaving bruises; pressed a kitchen knife against her right wrist, and told her he would cut her if she tried to move and bit her on the neck during the argument.
Ms. Spinner allegedly attempted to use her cellphone to call police during the incident, but Mr. Barber reportedly grabbed the phone out of her hands and threw it.
He was arraigned by Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $750 bail. A temporary order of protection was also issued for Ms. Spinner.
