Lindsey B. Bertram, 23, of 22172 County Route 42, Carthage, was arrested Monday morning on four charges, including three felonies, after she allegedly misused food stamp benefits.
According to city police, the offense occurred in January 2013.
She was arrested at 146 Arsenal St. and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps, all class E felonies. She also was charged with welfare fraud, a misdemeanor.
Police did not disclose the value of the improper benefits she allegedly received. Misuse of food stamps is charged as a class E felony when the value is between $1,000 and $3,000.
She was transported to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held pending arraignment in City Court.
