Free workshops helping local businesses get online

POTSDAM - Join us today through Friday for Get Your Business Online Week, when the SUNY Canton SBDC, the Reh Center for Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University and Google are partnering together to get area businesses online and growing. A series of free, live streamed workshops will provide businesses with advice and tips on various ways they can get their business online.

Today, 97 percent of Internet users look online for local products and services, yet 55 percent of American businesses do not have a website. Getting online is the fastest and easiest thing business owners can do to grow their business. Over the next three years, businesses that make use of the web are expected to grow 40 percent faster than those who don’t.

Throughout the week, Google will be hosting free virtual workshops covering topics ranging from how to build a website to measuring results online. The week’s activities will not only showcase the value of the Internet as a tool to help small businesses grow but also provide an opportunity for local business owners to connect and share insights.
