Rosemary T. Pfister, 95, of Gifford Street Road, died March 13, 2014 at her home while under the care of her family.

Mrs. Pfister was born May 2, 1918, in Watertown a daughter of Anthony and Lucile Charlebois Tauroney. She graduated from Watertown High School and attended Remington Institute School of Engineering. Mrs. Pfister assisted her parents in the operation of Rest Haven Motel, on Gifford Street Road.

On June 8, 1940, she married Robert G. Pfister at Holy Family Church with Monsignor Joseph D. Creeden officiating. Mr. Pfister died February 16, 1997.Mrs. Pfister and her husband owned and operated Rest Haven Court Motel and Rest Haven Spring Water, which she continued operating after her husbands’ death and continued until recently.

Mrs. Pfister operated a wedding cake business for several years. She called herself a “Homemaker Engineer”. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Surviving are a son; Robert A., Watertown, five grandchildren and their spouses;, Julia Janine and Vinnie D’Agostino, North Belmore, LI, Anthony Robert and Carolyn Pfister, East Greenbush, NY and Christie Francine and Daniel Gildart, East Greenbush, NY, Deanna Marie Pfister and her husband Dan Mincer, Watertown, Adriana Marie Pfister, Watertown, seven great grandchildren; Samara, Kendall and Joseph D’Agostino, Quinn and Anthony Pfister and Jeffrey and Emily Gildart, several cousins, nieces, nephews and god children.

A funeral mass was held at the convenience of the family with entombment in the families mausoleum at Glenwood Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 400 Pratt Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
