WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Julia Bell supplied three goals and two assists to help Mount Holyoke overcome Clarkson University and Christine Wright, 15-11, in a nonleague womens lacrosse game on Monday.
Clarkson (1-3) closed within a goal several times in the second half but could not complete the comeback. Wright, a former Immaculate Heart Central player, finished with four goals and two assists for the Golden Knights.
Kirsten Kilburn also scored three goals for Mt. Holyoke (2-3). Danielle Faivus supplied two goals for Clarkson, and former Indian River athlete Paige Fayette supplied a goal and two assists.
n The inaugural Clarkson softball team suffered two more defeats, losing 3-2 to Smith College and 10-2 to Wisconsin-Superior at Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Fla.
Caroline Kushner and Lisa Ferrucci supplied run-scoring hits for Smith College in the first game. Clarkson (0-6) had runners on the corners with one out in the final inning but couldnt plate a run.
In the second game, Wisconsin-Superiors Nicolle Gross pitched a five-hitter through five innings and Melissa Clark drove in two runs. Louise Terwilliger knocked in a run for Clarkson.
