Massena woman charged with petit larceny

MASSENA — State police on Wednesday charged Ellie L. Murray, 37, of Massena, with petit larceny and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both misdemeanors.

Troopers said that at 7:57 p.m. Saturday, Ms. Murray left Claire’s Boutique in the St. Lawrence Centre mall with a rainbow pen, green leg warmers and a pack of earrings valued at $26 without paying. Troopers said the store’s assistant manager contacted mall security, who told police she left before they could locate her.

State police found Ms. Murray at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday during a traffic stop at 140 Liberty Ave. using a license plate number provided by mall security. Troopers said Ms. Murray was driving with a suspended license when they stopped her.

She issued appearance tickets for Town Court.
