Watertown- The funeral for Jamaal H. Brinkley will be Monday, March 24, 3pm, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service from 1:00pm - 3:00 pm. Spring burial will be held in Brookside Cemetery at a time to be announced.

Mr. Brinkley passed away in the emergency room of the Samaritan Medical Center on March 18, 2014. He was 35 years old.

Jamaal was born in Philadelphia on October 25, 1978, a son to Greg and Georjean Furlow Brinkley. He married Courtney Hancock on June 13, 2009 in Lowville, NY.

Recently, he worked as a chef at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Surviving besides his parents and wife are a daughter: Imanii Dawkins; 2 sons: Kamaal Brinkley, Amari Gosier; a sister, Zahkiah Bailon; 2 brothers: Sadiyq Brinkley, Aziim Brinkley; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial trust is being set up to aid his children’s future education. Donations may be sent to 137 William Street, Watertown, New York 13601 c/o Courtney Brinkley
