Parishville couple charged with child endangerment

PARISHVILLE — Ryan R. Corbine, 31, and Heather M. Burns, 34, of Parishville, were charged by state police with child endangerment on Thursday.

Police said Canton-Potsdam Hospital notified them of a 4-week-old baby who had suffered severe bruising between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Police said a relative of the couple had taken their baby to the hospital after seeing the bruising.

Mr. Corbine and Ms. Burns were arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and released under probation supervision. They are to reappear in Parishville Town Court.

An order of protection was issued for the baby. Both the baby and the couple’s 1-year-old child were put into foster care by the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services. The permanent status of the children’s residence will be determined this week in Family Court.
