The Feast of the Spring Moon dinner to benefit the upcoming War of 1812 Heritage Talks will be held Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Freight House Restaurant, Ogdensburg.
The dinner is the continuation of an annual dinner begun more than 30 years ago by the first group of Canadian Fencibles and has morphed and traveled in Ontario from Prescott, to Merrickville, to Oxford Mills, and to Ogdensburg.
In recent years this has become a fund-raising dinner for the War of 1812 Heritage Talks and open to everyone: Re-enactors and contra dancers may wear their period clothes.
Dinner is $30 per person all inclusive, which includes a $6 donation. Diners get their choice of queen-sized prime rib, chicken Marsala, chicken Parmesan, fried or broiled haddock, fettuccini a la Freight House with grilled chicken and broccoli or a vegetarian option. Dinner includes salad, rolls and butter, dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage.
Attendees are asked to confirm their reservations by calling the Freight House at 393-9088.
