Take Back the Night, an internationally observed event to raise awareness of violence against women, will be hosted by the Health and Wellness Center of Jefferson Community College at 7 p.m. April 7 in the colleges Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater.
Activities, free and open to the public, will include a march around campus, a panel of guest speakers and a resource fair.
The Clothesline Project, featuring T-shirts bearing personal messages, will be on display in the lobby of the theater.
Guest speakers will include Jefferson County District Attorney Cindy F. Intschert; Jefferson County Board of Legislators Chairwoman Carolyn D. Fitzpatrick; representatives from the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County and a licensed mental health readjustment counselor from the Department of Veterans Affairs office in Watertown.
