Take Back the Night comes to JCC

“Take Back the Night,” an internationally observed event to raise awareness of violence against women, will be hosted by the Health and Wellness Center of Jefferson Community College at 7 p.m. April 7 in the college’s Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater.

Activities, free and open to the public, will include a march around campus, a panel of guest speakers and a resource fair.

The Clothesline Project, featuring T-shirts bearing personal messages, will be on display in the lobby of the theater.

Guest speakers will include Jefferson County District Attorney Cindy F. Intschert; Jefferson County Board of Legislators Chairwoman Carolyn D. Fitzpatrick; representatives from the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County and a licensed mental health readjustment counselor from the Department of Veterans Affairs office in Watertown.

For more information about “Take Back the Night,” contact the college’s Health and Wellness Center at 786-2376.
