Helen A. Netto, 85, of 894 So. Massey Street, passed away at her daughter Patricia’s home, 893 So. Massey Street, surrounded by her family, March 23, 2014.

Mrs. Netto was born July 13, 1928 on Wolfe Island, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of John and Helen Dee Lacey. She attended schools on Wolfe Island and attended Kingston Business School. On September 27, 1951 she married Kenneth N. Netto in Watertown, NY. Mr. Netto died April 20, 1992.

Mrs. Netto was employed with Case Jr. High School in the cafeteria, was a clerk for Mason’s Bridal Shop and was a home maker. She loved cooking for her family, canning, gardening and making rhubarb pies with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, traveling to Florida with her husband to visit family and spending summers at their cottage on Pillar Point. She enjoyed playing golf and watching the NY Yankees. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.

Surviving are a son and daughter in law; Kenneth F. and Christine, two daughters and a son in law; Patricia A. and James Hatch and Judy L. Ostrom, all of Watertown, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Three brothers Neil, Mitch, Jack and three sisters Margaret Papa, Jean Breen, Wava Renaud, all of Kingston, Ontario, all died before her.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:15 am at the funeral home with a funeral mass at 10 am at St. Anthony’s Church with Reverend Donald Robinson officiating.
