The Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County and the Jefferson County Planning Department will host an annual fair housing round table from 9 to 11 a.m. April 22 at CAPC, 518 Davidson St.
In celebration of April being Fair Housing Month, the round table will highlight reasonable accommodations. Karen Schroeder from the Central New York Fair Housing Council will explain reasonable accommodations and whom the law applies to under the Fair Housing Act, and Deanna Nelson from the state attorney generals office will provide information on legal consequences for landlords who fail to comply with requests for reasonable accommodations.
There also will be a panel discussion on available resources to help landlords offset the costs associated with providing reasonable accommodations.
