CANTON — Cole Johnson totaled nine points, including scoring six goals, to pace General Brown past Canton, 13-6 on Tuesday in a nonleague game in the boys lacrosse season opener for both teams.

Ryan Lamon contributed four goals and an assist for the Lions and Jake Purvis chipped in with a goal and four assists.

Luke Rogers scored twice for General Brown and goalie Matt Roberts finished with eight saves against the Golden Bears.

ST. LAWRENCE 7, POTSDAM 5

Lukas Arquiett and Marshall Burninghausen supplied three goals apiece as St. Lawrence opened its Northern Athletic Conference season with a victory in Potsdam.

Jake Sutton added a goal and an assist and Brody Simonds also scored for the Larries, who overcame a 5-2 halftime deficit. Kody Kocsis made 17 saves for St. Lawrence.

Corson Green scored two goals for Potsdam. Richie Foster, David Caamano and Max Warden also scored for the Sandstoners.

GIRLS LACROSSE

POTSDAM 16, SARANAC LAKE 0

Annette Rishe paced a balanced offense with six goals and an assist as the Sandstoners rolled over Saranac Lake in an NAC opener in Potsdam.

Kiona Loran supplied four goals and two assists for Potsdam. Matisyn Beamer supplied two goals and Paige McCabe added a goal and two assists. Haley Clark, Abby Gruneisen and Kalie Grant supplied a goal each.

Katelyn Bloom made three saves in the shutout.
