LISBON State police on Wednesday charged Terry P. Pitts, 37, of 217A Taggart Road, with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony, and misdemeanor unlawful possession of a hypodermic instrument.
The Troop B Narcotics Enforcement Unit received information of a possible meth lab at his address, police said. Troopers said that following an investigation, which revealed evidence of an inactive, one-pot meth lab, they determined Mr. Pitts had been making meth at that location.
Police said during similar arrests that a lab of that size is typically used for personal use and on average may produce about one to two grams.
He was arrested at the scene, arraigned in Morristown Town Court by Justice James Phillips Jr. and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
The Ogdensburg City Police Department and St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.
