POTSDAM — The St. Lawrence Central varsity boys lacrosse team steadily pulled away to a 13-0 win over Colton-Pierrepont in an early-morning matchup at the SUNY Potsdam turf field on Saturday.

Senior Marshall Burninghausen (3-2) and junior Lukas Arquiett (2-3) anchored a balanced Larries offense with five points apiece. Styles Arquiett added three goals and an assist as SLC built a 2-0 lead by the end of the first quarter before breaking the game open with more unanswered goals in the second. Brody Simonds tallied a goal and three helpers. Luke Collins contributed a pair of goals while Nick Randall (1 assist) and Jake Sutton each netted singletons and Skyler Burns logged a solo assist.

Junior Kody Kocsis turned aside the nine shots he faced to backstop the shutout. Major McKinley recorded nine saves in his varsity goaltending debut for the Colts (0-1).

Off to a 2-0 start, the Larries are slated to return to action on Monday against NAC rival Saranac Lake under the lights at 8:15 p.m. at the SUNY Potsdam turf field. The Colts are scheduled to take on Canton at 8 p.m. Thursday at SUNY Potsdam.
