A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Monday in Jefferson and Lewis counties, with snow and freezing rain forecast. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain, snow and freezing rain is forecast to continue through the early afternoon, with a chance of rain after 2 p.m.
Roads may be slick and hazardous, the service warns.
In St. Lawrence County, the service is calling for snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow, along with a trace of ice. A mixture of snow and sleet is forecast to continue through this afternoon, the service predicts. A winter weather advisory remains in effect through 2 p.m. this afternoon in St. Lawrence County.
