WATERTOWN Demetrius D. Perrin, 23, of 983 LeRay St., was charged Sunday with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and got stuck in the snow on the shoulder.
Jefferson County sheriffs deputies said Mr. Perrin was driving east on Route 283 in the town of Pamelia about 3 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle. He was driving home from a bar in the city, according to a sheriffs report.
He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing, where a breath test determined his blood alcohol content to be 0.19 percent, deputies said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.
He additionally was charged with failure to keep right, obstructed view and refusal to take a breath test, all infractions.
