WATERTOWN — A city man was arrested after police said he drove a vehicle back and forth as his girlfriend was in front of the vehicle trying to stop him.

Jason L. Pitcher, 27, of 639 Burchard St., Apt. 8, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he allegedly drove the vehicle he and Melissa M. Dukes, same address, owned while she was holding the hood and the door frame of the vehicle in an effort to get him not to drive it.

City police said the events stemmed from a domestic incident about 6:30 a.m. on the 600-block of Burchard Street.

After he was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing, police discovered that Mr. Pitcher had an active warrant for his arrest out of Arizona. The warrant does not allow for extradition.

He was arraigned in City Court and sent back to the jail on $5,000 cash bail.
