Watertown woman charged with aggravated DWI

WATERTOWN — Nicole B. Bolio, 25, of 283 State St., was arrested by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies before dawn Saturday after she allegedly was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent.

Deputies stopped Ms. Bolio on Route 11 in the town of Pamelia at 4:24 a.m. Deputy Jeffrey M. Froelich, who made the arrest, said Ms. Bolio had likely struck a guardrail, knocking out a headlight. She was stopped for the nonoperational light, as well as for allegedly weaving all over the road, and issued a field sobriety test. The arrest report said she was driving home after drinking beer at a bar in Evans Mills.

She was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where a breath test determined her BAC to be 0.20 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

In addition to aggravated DWI, she was cited with driving with inadequate lights and unlicensed operation. Mr. Froelich said Ms. Bolio had a Tennessee license that had been suspended because of unpaid tickets.
