OGDENSBURG A car-pedestrian collision sent an Ogdensburg man to the hospital Monday.
State police responded at 10:23 a.m. to Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie, where Roger J. Bellinger, 87, had been struck by a vehicle traveling west. Troopers said Mr. Bellinger was crossing the road to retrieve his mail from a mailbox when he was struck by a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Lindsey P. Martin, 20, Hammond.
Mr. Bellinger was taken by Morristown Volunteer Rescue Squad to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where he was treated for a fractured pelvis and injuries to his left arm.
No tickets were issued.
