WATERTOWN Eric H. Leskinen, 46, of Caledonia, was charged with driving while intoxicated Thursday following a traffic stop on Eddy Street.
Jefferson County sheriffs deputies said Mr. Leskinen was stopped for speeding about 3 a.m.
He told deputies he was driving to his hotel in Watertown after drinking a few beers in Lowville, they said. Deputies took him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was issued a breath analysis test that determined his blood alcohol content to be 0.11 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication.
In addition to DWI, he was charged with refusal to take a breath test and speeding. He was released pending an appearance in City Court.
