PHILADELPHIA—State police said a Richville man hit a pedestrian at Stewart’s Shop on North Main Street and fled the scene before being stopped on Route 11 in the town of Antwerp.

Jerry L. Lewis, 34, of 156 Main St., was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Police classified the incident as a personal injury accident, but said the pedestrian was not injured. Mr. Lewis had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication under state law.

He is to appear in Antwerp Town Court to answer the charges.
