WATERTOWN An Easter egg hunt on Saturday is being billed as the citys largest ever. More than 2,000 colorful plastic Easter eggs filled with candy, toys and prizes will be hidden in downtown Watertown.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Children can register for the Easter egg hunt starting at 10:30 a.m. in front of Watertown City Hall, 245 Washington St.
Held rain or shine, the hunt will be staggered in three age groups: ages 6 and younger, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12.
The event also will feature face-painting, balloon animals and Easter-themed crafts for children to decorate. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance.
The hunt is free, but families are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Watertown Urban Mission. Several Watertown businesses have donated prizes to the hunt. After the hunt, the Jefferson County Historical Society will offer Easter-themed crafts, along with the chance for pictures taken with the Easter Bunny for a small donation.
The hunt is sponsored by the Watertown Downtown Business Association, the citys Parks and Recreation Department and the Jefferson County Historical Society.
