Adams man charged with driving while high on marijuana

HENDERSON—Following a traffic stop for having insufficient tail lamps, an Adams man was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana.

James A. Hulbert, 23, of 13681 Route 11, Adams Center, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on Route 178 at around 9:25 p.m. Thursday after he reportedly failed field tests and told the officer he had smoked about 90 minutes before the stop.

What’s more, deputies reportedly found a glass pipe containing marijuana residue in his jacket pocket.

Mr. Hulbert was charged with driving while ability-impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and the tail lamp infraction.

A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Caitlin M. Gaskin, same address, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after she too was allegedly in possession of a pipe containing marijuana residue.

They were both issued tickets to Town Court.
