Ogdensburg Presbyterian Church accepting Food Sense orders

The First Presbyterian Church of Ogdensburg will accept orders for its Food Sense program Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church. Orders will be taken at Riverview Towers Thursday from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Food Sense offers participants a package of food items for $15.50, regardless of income. Additional special items are also available for purchase.

This week’s package includes (list subject to change): 1 pound Italian meatballs; a 12-oz. portion of veal patties; 1 pound pollock fillets; 1 pound Italian sausage; 1 pound ground chicken; 1 pound ziti; a 26-oz. jar of spaghetti sauce; a 20-oz. package of frozen pizza snacks; a 15-oz. can of peach slices; a 15-oz. portion of carrots; and two fresh produce items.

Items available for additional purchase are: 5 pounds chicken drumsticks for $4.75; 5 pounds Italian meatballs for $11; two 1-pound cod fillets for $7; 2 pounds mozzarella sticks for $5; a 4.5 pound white cheddar pasta bake for $13; and 5 pounds stuffed peppers for $11.75.

The food stamp withdrawal date is April 14. Delivery is April 24 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church. The church cannot hold any packages. Those who are unable to pick up packages on their own are asked to send someone to pick it up for them. Any unclaimed packages will be donated to the Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center.
