BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Erin M. Abelard, 32, of 25 Grant St., Massena, on a bench warrant alleging she had violated the conditions of her probationary sentence early Monday morning. She was arraigned on the warrant by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released after posting $1,000 cash bail. The warrant had been signed in May 2013.

Abelard had been sentenced to probation in March 2012 for a petit larceny conviction. Abelard was reportedly employed as a baby sitter when she allegedly stole a check from her employer, write it about for $250 and cashed it. She was sentenced to probation with a stipulation she make restitution of $275.

Probation officials, in a report filed with the court in February 2013, said Abelard had made just one of her monthly payments of $25 over the first year of her sentence and had failed to appear for her weekly visits with her probation officer on numerous occasions.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Tammy :. Fried, 32, of Alden Street, Massena, for speed in zone at 10:43 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Route 37.

LITTERING - MASSENA - Village police charged Sabbath L. McGregor, 17, of 6037 County Route 14, Chase Mills, with littering at 1:30 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Stoughton Avenue.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Soe S. Bonaparte, 26, of Tarbell Road, Hogansburg, for speed in zone and operation of an uninspected motor vehicle at 10:15 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Route 37.

DESIGNATED LANE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Glenn F. Barse, 66, of Cook Road, Massena for failure to use designation lane at 8 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Route 37.

UNSAFE BACKING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Mandy S. Dow, 35, of Route 131, Massena, for unsafe backing at 5:24 p.m. Sunday following a property damage accident at the Jreck Sub’s parking lot.
