I would like the citizens of Cape Vincent to consider this. We recently went through the election process, and in this process the Democrats and CFG were accused of trying to take the voting rights of summer residents away.
Sometimes, all is not as it seems. We are now just about four months away from that process, and we have a deputy town supervisor who was not elected but appointed.
Cliff Schnyder has now resigned, and what will the Town Board do at this point? Will it appoint another person who was not in the election process, or will it do the right thing and select someone whom the people chose in that process? It may decide to keep the position vacant.
My hope is the decision on what to do is based on the good of the community. My belief is that board members will base their decision on how to keep power.
I believe Al Wood is the most qualified person for Town Board. Windmills are no longer an issue, and he has the qualifications and the understanding of how this community works.
Only time will tell what the Cape Vincent Town Board will do.
