Man charged with felony criminal contempt after domestic incident

WATERTOWN — Daniel F. Pratt, 45, of 618 Huntington St., was arrested Tuesday morning after city police said he violated an order of protection.

Mr. Pratt is accused of grabbing the hand of Kimberly J. Pratt, same address, at 7:30 that morning and taking her cellphone.

He was charged with second-degree harassment in that incident. For allegedly violating an order of protection issued by Family Court, he was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony.

Due to a previous conviction of second-degree criminal contempt, he was charged with an additional count of first-degree criminal contempt, court records said.

Mr. Pratt was arrested on April 22, 2013, on a criminal contempt charge after police said he smeared chewing tobacco in Ms. Pratt’s hair that day, violating an order of protection.

He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing, arraigned in City Court and sent back to the jail on $10,000 cash bail.
