Gouverneur man charged in Ogdensburg burglary

OGDENSBURG — After a request for public assistance, state police arrested a Gouverneur man on charges of breaking into an Ogdensburg business.

Troopers on Monday charged Brett M. McIntosh, 22, with the class D felony of third-degree burglary.

The arrest stems from a burglary in the early morning hours of March 22 at Perry’s Place Redemption Center, 7211 State Route 68. Troopers said that Mr. McIntosh picked a lock on the rear of the building and proceeded to steal multiple cartons of cigarettes, chewing tobacco and over $200 in cash from the business.

Mr. McIntosh was identified by members of the public who saw a post about the burglary on Facebook and through the help of local media. He was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and released under the supervision of probation.
