City man accused of brandishing pocket knife, threatening to kill woman

WATERTOWN — A Watertown man was arrested early Wednesday morning after city police said he punched and choked a woman and threatened her life with a pocket knife.

Eric P. Daymont II, 23, of 314 William St., Apt. 1, was arrested on the 200 block of William Street at 2:13 a.m. on charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment.

Police said that at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday at 512 Mundy St., Mr. Daymont punched Ashley L. Carr, of 305 Gotham St., Apt. 8, in the face numerous times, causing a bloody nose and lips. Mr. Daymont also was accused of placing both his hands around Ms. Carr’s neck and squeezing until she was unable to breathe normally. Police said he pulled out a green folding pocket knife and told her he was going to kill her.

He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held pending arraignment in City Court. He was sent back to the jail on $1,500 cash bail.
