GOUVERNEUR - The state Department of Transportation will host a public meeting April 22 to present information and answer questions about a proposed project to rehabilitate or replace the William Street (Route 58) Bridge over the Oswegatchie River in the village.
The meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gouverneur Municipal Offices, 33 Clinton St.
DOT is developing alternatives for the project to rehabilitate or replace the bridge. It is anticipated that during construction the bridge will be closed and traffic will be diverted around the project site by a detour using Hailesboro Street.
The project is expected to begin construction in the summer of 2015 and be completed in 2016.
Please advise this office if a sign language interpreter, assistive listening system or any other accommodations will be required to facilitate your participation. Interested individuals who are not able to attend may obtain project information by writing to: Robert H. Curtis, P.E., Regional Design Engineer, NYS Department of Transportation, Dulles State Office Bldg., 317 Washington St., Watertown, N.Y., 13601.
