Jasmine Canady and Alyssa Crosby of Jefferson Community College were named to the NJCAA Division III All-American women’s basketball team on Thursday.

Canady, a sophomore guard, was selected for the second team and Crosby, a freshman forward from Hammond, received honorable mention.

Canady averaged 20.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 4.4 steals per game. The Spring Lake, N.C., native was previously named the Region 3 and Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Canady finished her two-year career with 1,096 points, second in program history behind 1993 graduate Jen Podvin (1,245). She will play for Division III Methodist University of Fayetteville, N.C., next season. Methodist, a member of the USA South Atlantic Conference, went 16-11 last season.

Crosby, a Brier Hill native and 2013 graduate of Hammond, averaged 19.1 points and 11 rebounds per game. She posted 17 double-doubles in 27 games.

The Cannoneers (20-7) advanced to the Region 3 Tournament for the first time since 2005-06.
