In this election year, if the GOP loses ground anywhere as we head to 2016, it would have to be on the issue of their raw hypocrisy.
This recent headline suggests that continues to be true: GOP seeks coverage choices in health care law they hate.
It cannot get much more hypocritical than that.
True, there are hypocrites on both political sides.
But I believe that this GOP takes the proverbial cake.
Several examples will prove my point to show clearly how the GOP constantly waves the we the people flag and yaps about how our forefathers intended this or that about the Constitution all the while they chip away at it.
Then add these key issues:
They hamper voting rights, constantly hurt the weakest in our country with food stamp and WIC cuts and other nasty budget tricks and gimmicks and call it caring.
They have no problem with more and constant war.
Yet when its over, they cut or ignore vet benefits for those in most need and do not show any improvement in health care for families under Tricare as they jack up the prices and make them pay for their own health care.
They carry on a sustained and constant attack of public employees and their unions, which I have to say are the backbone of the country.
They display an obvious hatred for public education as they sell vouchers and charter schools as alternatives while leaving behind those in most need behind in shambles; the constant degradation of women about their health care and constant assault on minorities, immigrants (legal or not), while saying they are equal while passing laws to make discrimination legal (like they tried in Arizona and a few other states).
I know its quite a list, and, yes, I am a staunch Democrat.
But I am a level-head and honest person, and this is what I see as the GOP today, one my grandfather and my mother would turn away from in shame, too.
This GOP claims they stand for all Americans.
But that is only in their rhetoric, not in their deeds.
The playing field is strewn with the bodies of proof about these things even as the GOP tries hard to hide the evidence.
They can try all they want to ignore and dismiss the facts, but the facts are what they are, evidence about the harshness of this GOP.
