GLENFIELD — Claude E. and Theodora M. “Sis” Stedman, 6194 Blue St., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 5 at home with family.

Dr. Stedman, son of the late George and Jessie (Ely) Stedman, and Theodora M. Patnode, daughter of Elmer and Josephine (Pomerville) Patnode, were married April 9, 1964, at St. Paul’s Church, Rome, with the Rev. Ambrose J. Ruppert officiating. Honor attendants were the late John and Phyllis McMahon.

Dr. Stedman graduated in 1941 from Rome Free Academy, in 1943 from Syracuse University and in 1947 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, Philadelphia. He served as a dentist in the Army with the rank of captain and practiced dentistry in Rome. He is a former member of the Lake Delta Yacht Club and Griffiss Ski Club. Mr. Stedman enjoys listening to jazz.

Mrs. Stedman graduated in 1945 from General Martin School. She worked at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, before raising six children of their combined marriages. She is a former member of Lake Delta Yacht Club and Griffiss Ski Club. Mrs. Stedman enjoys knitting and playing bocce and loves animals.

The couple has a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Townsend, Rome; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Dale and Timothy Kaier and Kathy Russo, all of Rome, Karen Webb, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Karen and Mike Semeraro, Utica; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Claudia Stedman, is deceased.
