National Grid warns of possible power interruptions in Brasher, Winthrop area

BRASHER FALLS - Severe flooding is occurring on the St Regis River at this time. National Grid’s substation facilities serving the Brasher Falls and Winthrop area are currently at risk of being interrupted due to the flooding.

National Grid crews are currently working to perform switching and construct new facilities to relieve the flooded substation. They expect to have this work completed sometime overnight tonight, and are hopeful that customers can be switched to the alternate supply without interruption.

However, the flooding may require National Grid to interrupt power to the substation for safety reasons or to prevent further equipment damage before the new facilities are completed. In this case, your power may be interrupted until work can be completed and a switch made to the alternate supply.

If you need to reach National Grid, please call the customer service number 1-800-642-4272.
