WATERTOWN The assessment for the Watertown Daily Times property, 260 Washington St., has been reduced from $1,963,600 to $1.7 million for last year and to $1.6 million for 2014, according to an agreement reached by the company and the city of Watertown.
After discussing the agreement in executive session on Monday night, the Watertown City Council unanimously approved the settlement.
The company had taken the matter to the state Supreme Court to review the assessment. The settlement avoids further court proceedings.
The newspaper will receive a $6,622.18 refund from the city, the Watertown School District and Jefferson County.
