Marvin J. Zimmerman, 91, of Liverpool, NY, went to be with the Lord on April 14. He was born on July 30, 1922 in Syracuse. He was a World War II veteran who was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a jack of all trades mechanical engineer who worked for many years at Coyne Industrial Laundry before starting his own successful business. His work allowed him to travel to many interesting places throughout the world. His hobbies included restoring antique cars and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who was always there for everyone in there time of need.
Marvin is survived by Pamela (Kevin) Harney, Marvin (Susan) Zimmerman, Randy (Kelley) Zimmerman, Roberta (Steve) Smith, along with seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lillian Simmons, and his special friend, Doug Dottar.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Harter Funeral Home, 9525 South Main St. in Brewerton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish.
