Eleanor M. Klock, 93, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided since January, 2013.
Eleanor was born January 9, 1921, to the late Earl C. Chavoustie and Julia Cullen Chavoustie of Three Mile Bay, NY. Eleanor married Fred B. Klock, December 27, 1943, at St. Vincent de Pauls Church, Rosiere, NY. Fred died at the age of 58, May 3, 1980.
Eleanor was a life-long resident of Three Mile Bay before moving to Bay View Manor Housing in Chaumont. She worked for the Paynter Senior Citizens Center, Inc., Clayton, NY, serving dinners to Senior Citizens of the Town of Lyme and was a Library Aide at Lyme Free Library, Chaumont, through the Green Thumb Program, from 1986 to 2000.
Eleanor was a magnificent seamstress, gardener, raised her own poultry, and enjoyed being a vendor at craft fairs where she sold her canvas art.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and a brother Francis Chavoustie.
Survivors include Ann West and James, Chaumont, NY; Sandy Steen, Altus, Oklahoma; Elaine Bock and C. Adam, Black River, NY; Karen Cuppernell, Three Mile Bay, NY; Donna Murray and Ronald, Cape Vincent, NY; Nancy Lillie and Steve, Black River, NY; and Eugene Klock and Krista Yott, Chaumont, NY; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister Norma Grant of Cape Vincent, NY; a brother Charles Chavoustie of McGraw, NY; and sister-in-law Rosie Gillette of LaFargeville, NY; and brother-in-law Ned J. Klock of Three Mile Bay, NY.
Eleanors wish was to be cremated.
