WATERTOWN — Three children were living in a West Lynde Street residence with garbage and animal feces throughout the residence and no food available, city police said.

Melissa E.V. Morales, 27, of 107 W. Lynde St., was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after the three children — a 4-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy — were forced to live in “deplorable conditions,” police said. The woman was arrested at 2:48 p.m. Monday at the residence. She was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing and released with an appearance ticket to City Court.
