PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Jacob A. Cook, 37, of Hogansburg with petit larceny at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday stemming from a shoplifting incident at the Hannaford supermarket in Massena.
Troopers said that at about 7:19 p.m. Wednesday he walked past the last point of sale without paying for two Angus tenderloin steaks valued at $28.94. A loss prevention coordinator at the store told state police that Cook put two of three meat packages in his pants and handed off other items to a female who could no longer be seen after walking out of view of a surveillance camera.
Cook was also wanted on a bench warrant signed Feb. 4 by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson for failing to appear on a separate petit larceny count.
He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and was ordered held on $500 cash on the warrant and $250 cash on Wednesdays arrest.
MARIJUANA POSSESSION - BRASHER FALLS - Massena-based state police charged Ronald J. McGee, 28, of Brasher Falls with unlawful possession of marijuana at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on County Route 55 in the town of Brasher. He was released on an appearance ticket.
ACCIDENT - CLINTON - State police investigated a one-vehicle property damage accident at 12:56 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 11 in the town of Clinton. The vehicle was operated by Jami L. Mulverhill, 37, of St. Regis Falls.
