MASSENA — State police on Wednesday charged Jacob A. Cook, 37, of 84 Moses Cook Road, with petit larceny.

Troopers allege that, at about 7:19 p.m. at the Hannaford Super Market in the St. Lawrence Centre Plaza, Mr. Cook placed two Angus tenderloin steaks totaling $28.94 down the front of his pants and tried to leave the store without paying for them.

Upon further investigation, troopers said they learned that Mr. Cook had active arrest warrants issued from multiple agencies.

Mr. Cook was arraigned in Massena Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $250 cash bail.
