Altmar man charged with gas station larceny, drug possession


PARISH—Devin J. Mowers, 20, of 1187 County Route 22, Altmar, was arrested at 1:16 a.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Interstate 81.

State police said Mr. Mowers was driving 79 mph in a 65 mph zone northbound near the Route 104 overpass. During the stop, the trooper allegedly found crushed oxycodone pills, as well as a small amount of marijuana, inside the vehicle.

Earlier that night, Mr. Mowers stole money from Mirabito Gas Station, 2926 Route 49, West Monroe, police said. The amount of money allegedly stolen is not yet known.

He was charged with petit larceny, seventh-degree criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana.

On the larceny charge, Mr. Mowers was issued an appearance ticket for West Monroe Town Court. On the two drug-related charges, he was ordered to appear in Parish Town Court.
